A Word from the Executive Director
My name is Chuck Farr, and I’m the Executive Director for Child and Family Connections #13. Child and Family Connections is part of a larger nationwide initiative, called Early Intervention, to offer assistance to young children with, or at risk of, developmental delays.
We want your children to grow to their full potential and live wonderful lives. We do that by offering free screenings for children across the nine counties we serve, conducting in-home and family focused therapy, providing counseling, consultation and many other services aimed to assist your infant or toddler and the whole family. My staff of accredited service coordinators, parent liaisons and contracted therapists are here to help you, your children and your whole family.
One of our own parent liaisons can attest to the power of programs like Early Intervention and organizations like Child and Family Connections. Lisa Viaene, a longtime Parent Liaison, utilized services like those offered by Child and Family Connections when her daughter was born. Lisa’s daughter had a vision disability that would most likely lead her to live life without sight. Her new baby girl would never get to reach her full potential, she would never get to play sports, drive or live a fully independent life.
Two decades later, Lisa’s daughter has defied all the odds. She drives, runs and plays soccer. She graduated from college and is now working on her doctorate. Lisa says that none of that would be possible without therapies and services like those that Child and Family Connections offers.
Hearing that your child may have a developmental delay can be heartbreaking and scary, but we are truly here to help. I personally invite you to explore your options by checking out our website and our social media. If you have any questions, please call me at (309)575-3227 or email me .
Thank you,
Chuck Farr
