Child & Family Connections #13

Child and Family Connections is an early intervention program that serves infants and children ages 0-3 who have or are at risk of developmental delays. CFC #13 assists families across nine Illinois counties with their children's adaptive, cognitive, communication, physical, and emotional needs.

CFC provides a system point of entry into the Illinois Early Intervention (EI) System, further providing coordination of early intervention services including evaluations, connecting eligible families to therapies, community resources, and transition. The primary goal of EI is to support families in promoting their child’s optimal development in and to facilitate the child’s participation in family and community activities.

We teach families how to play with their children in order to help them learn and increase essential skills in the following areas of development:

  • Physical: how the baby moves and explores
  • Cognitive: how the baby learns
  • Communication: how the baby lets you know what he/she needs
  • Social/Emotional: how the baby engages with you and shows feelings
  • Adaptive: how the baby uses new skills

We provide in-home evaluations and therapy sessions, create personalized therapy sessions for you and your family, and monitor progress with 6 month check-ups.

Birth to Five Illinois

The state of Illinois has partnered with the Illinois Network of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (INCCRRA) to launch Birth to Five Illinois Action Councils and Family Councils in 39 regions, ours being Region 26.

The Action Councils will include parents and families, service providers, educators, and advocates who will be tasked with identifying service needs in each region. Information gathered by these Councils will be provided to the State in hopes of informing policy around birth-to-five programs over the next decade, and beyond. In addition, Birth to Five Councils can serve as regional advocacy bodies to influence local policy, including funding opportunities.

If you are interested in joining these Action Councils for our Region 26, please visit the BirthtoFive Illinois website.

Child and Family Connections #13 is funded by the Department of Human Services under the Regional Office of Education #26. Serving: Fulton, Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough, Mercer, Rock Island, Schuyler and Warren Counties.
