  • In an ongoing effort to strengthen school safety and emergency preparedness in Regional Office of Education #33 school districts, a four-day professional learning event will be held from June 2–5, 2025, focusing on crisis management, environmental safety design, reunification strategies, and standardized emergency response protocols. This training is designed for district and school leaders, safety teams, and relevant stakeholders committed to enhancing their crisis response frameworks in alignment with state standards.

This comprehensive four-day training series is designed to equip ROE #33 educators, administrators, and emergency management personnel with the tools, knowledge, and collaborative opportunities necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff.

Day Two (June 3) will introduce the principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). This session will emphasize how intentional modifications to the built environment—such as school buildings, athletic facilities, and grounds—can deter criminal behavior and promote positive conduct. The afternoon will focus on facility safety through an introduction to building assessments and the assessment worksheet, followed by a review of completed assessments from selected schools within ROE 33's service area.

    Participants will:
    - Gain a general understanding CPTED as it would apply to educational facilities.
    - Conduct a site assessment.
