Exciting things are happening at the YMCA Community Childcare Center! In a heartwarming example of collaboration and community spirit, the YMCA has partnered with the ROE 26 Preschool for All program to bring a brand-new playground to life for the daycare’s youngest learners.
This joint project is the result of a shared vision: to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate outdoor space where children can explore, play, and grow. With both organizations committed to supporting early childhood development, the new playground is a natural extension of their mission to provide high-quality care and education for children in the community.
The playground design includes age-appropriate equipment that encourages gross motor skills, imaginative play, and social interaction. Features include slides, climbing structures, interactive panels, and shaded areas—all carefully selected to meet the needs of toddlers and preschool-aged children.
“The playground needed an upgrade, the old play-set had been there for over 30 years, I am proud to have worked together to give the children such a wonderful new and inviting space.” Kelbie Jones - Preschool for All at the YMCA Community Childcare Center.
The new playground will serve children enrolled at the YMCA Childcare Center year-round, offering a bright and joyful space that supports physical health, creativity, and community connection. "We are grateful to provide this wonderful new playground equipment and I look forward to seeing the children enjoy every moment of play, exploration and experience the delight of playing on this new equipment." Jeri Hallinan - Preschool for All at the YMCA Community Childcare Center.
This project is a testament to what can be achieved when organizations work together with a common purpose. The Preschool for Program is proud to partner with the YMCA Community Childcare Center and continue working together to provide children with enriching environments where they can learn, grow, and thrive.
“This exciting addition reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting early childhood development through active play, exploration, and learning. The new equipment not only enhances the outdoor play experience for children but also encourages physical activity, creativity, and social interaction—key components of a high-quality early childhood education. We look forward to many more opportunities to help our young learners thrive in the early childhood centers.” - Chelsea Ladd, director of the the Preschool for All Program ROE 26.
