Building upon the Digital Threat Assessment class by Safer Schools Together, Advanced Digital Threat Assessment will leave participants with a concrete understanding of how to find and curate relevant digital information as is typically represented in a real-life digital threat assessment data-gathering scenario.
Through instructor-led activities, educators will gain increased knowledge and ability in the realm of digital threat assessment. Since the vast majority of recent school violence attacks have had precursors leaked online in the form of social media posts, and since successful student threat assessments cannot be determined without looking at the social media an online activity of the threat maker, it is imperative to understand the tools and methods available to identify and manage online threat-related behavior.
Participants will work together in group activities, and will receive templates and supplied standard operating procedures to leave with confidence in being able to independently establish a threat makers' digital baseline and produce a comprehensive report.
