In an ongoing effort to strengthen school safety and emergency preparedness in Regional Office of Education #33 school districts, a four-day professional learning event will be held from June 2–5, 2025, focusing on crisis management, environmental safety design, reunification strategies, and standardized emergency response protocols. This training is designed for district and school leaders, safety teams, and relevant stakeholders committed to enhancing their crisis response frameworks in alignment with state standards.
This comprehensive four-day training series is designed to equip ROE #33 educators, administrators, and emergency management personnel with the tools, knowledge, and collaborative opportunities necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff.
Day Four (June 5) will conclude the training with an in-depth look at the Standard Response Protocol (SRP)—a flexible, action-based approach for responding to a variety of emergencies, including natural disasters, intrusions, and accidents. Morning sessions will involve practical scenario work using the SRP framework. Midday, a presentation on Safe2Help Illinois will highlight the importance of student-driven, confidential reporting systems. As a 24/7 resource, Safe2HelpIL provides multiple avenues for students to share school safety concerns in a secure and non-punitive environment. The afternoon will continue with applied scenario training using SRP concepts.
