Day 2: Have you ever thought – Am I still making a difference? Many do, especially in the career of education. Sometimes job burnout can be the effects of hearing and seeing student and peer trauma stories. This session will give you the tools to understand if your feelings are job burnout or a deeper issue of secondary traumatic stress. We will review the groundbreaking Adverse Childhood Experiences Study, define vicarious (secondary) trauma and secondary traumatic stress, identify risk factors and signs of secondary traumatic stress and discover how to build vicarious resilience through in-school support and self-care.
