TITLE:  Youth Mental Health First Aid

INTENDED AUDIENCE:  Parents, teachers, health and human service workers, and other caring citizens who work with youth (age 12-19) who might experience a mental health or addictions challenge or be in crisis.

FEE:  $50.00

PD HOURS:  6 PD Hours (CEUs for SWs LCPCs and RNs will be provided by the Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health Center)

  • Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, teachers, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

    *Please note there are 2 hours of online pre-work required for this course prior to attending in person.
