DESCRIPTION: 

Course Objectives: 

• ROE SchoolWorks is pleased to offer School Board Leadership Training as an Illinois State Board of Education approved provider. The training, developed by a team of retired superintendents and school board members from east central Illinois, meets the requirement set forth by 105 ILCS 5/10-16a.

• The training features information and interactive scenarios on the topics of: Education and Labor Law, Financial Oversight and Accountability, Fiduciary Responsibilities Effective June 13, 2011 all school board members elected or appointed for a term of at least one year’s duration from that date forward must receive mandatory training.

• In addition to the School Board Leadership Training, participants will also complete the PERA (Optional Alternative Evaluative Dismissal Process) training. 

• This will provide board members a deeper look into the PERA Law regarding teacher evaluation.
