DESCRIPTION:  

  • This training will focus on how educators can reconnect and build relationships with students that will promote resilience for all.

  • Information will be shared on how retention and recall are affected by the chronic stress everyone has been experiencing during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

  • We will gain a greater understanding of our stress response during a crisis and how ongoing stress hinders one’s ability to process information and how it affects our communication.

  • We will explore ways to build resilience through utilizing trauma-informed educational practice in and out of the classroom including self-care, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning strategies, which provide a safe and secure environment that will enhance academic learning.
