Smithsonian National Museum of American History Presents: "Let's Do History Tour" (K-5)

One of only SIX events across the country in 2018, The Museum will share its interdisciplinary "do history" approach to teaching with a focus on everyday objects, people-centered stories and dialogue. Program elements may include: 1. Methods focused on object-based inquiry, primary source analysis, and critical evaluation of source material 2. Video segments that illustrate student engagement when "doing" history 3. Live Internet video connection to Museum to allow interaction with staff 4. Demonstration of NMAH online resources and tools available to teachers and students 5. Tailored segments that connect local stories to the national narrative.
